What experience and skills will you gain?

Throughout this course, you will engage with core scientific disciplines through mandatory units including:

  • Energy and Our Universe.

You will gain a solid understanding of basic principles in biology, chemistry, physics, and electronics, and how these principles apply to real-world situations.   • What do you need to apply?

    There are no specific prior academic requirements for this course. However, having English and maths skills at Level 1 will be beneficial.   • How will you be assessed?

    Assessment within this course is based on a combination of mandatory and optional units:

    • You must achieve at least 6 credits from mandatory units. *You will also choose additional units from a selection that complements your interests and career goals, making up a total of 15 credits to complete the qualification.
    • Assessments are varied, possibly including written assignments, practical experiments, and project work, depending on the specific units chosen.
  • Where can this course take you?

    Upon successful completion of the Level 2 Science (Adults) qualification, you will be well-prepared to progress to Level 3 courses in science and technology. This could lead to further academic study, such as an Access to Higher Education Diploma, or more specialized qualifications like a Level 3 Diploma in Applied Science or a Certificate in Metallurgy.
